Assignments Provide Increased Input on Infrastructure and Other Community Needs
Yorkville… State Representative Kay Hatcher has secured positions on key House Committees that will tackle issues crucial to our growing communities, including road, bridge and other infrastructure needs. In her first term in the Illinois House, Representative Hatcher (R-Yorkville) has garnered a coveted spot on the House Roads and Bridges Committee which will have first consideration of legislation concerning capital infrastructure improvements.
“Our district includes some of the fastest growing areas in the state and our local infrastructure system needs a lot of work to keep pace;” Hatcher said. “Adopting a comprehensive, statewide capital jobs and infrastructure plan will be a top priority this spring. With this committee assignment, I can make sure our local needs and concerns are taken into consideration.”
Hatcher said her background in local government makes her assignment to the newly-formed House Counties and Townships Committee a good fit.
“As a veteran of the Kendall County Board and Forest Preserve I know well the challenges local officials sometimes face when dealing with state government. With this new committee I hope we can foster more partnerships between local and state governments to help solve problems,” said Hatcher. Continue reading »
