Fox Valley…State Representative Kay Hatcher has organized a public hearing for local families and business owners to express their concerns and get answers to their questions on the ongoing road construction and improvements at the intersection of Routes 64 and 47.
The hearing will be held Friday, May 4th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the Campton Township Community Center located at 5N082 Old LaFox Road near Wasco’s business district.
District representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be on hand to discuss the project’s scope and timeframe, and to hear local residents’ concerns and answer questions about road closures, detours and other aspects of the project that will impact business as well as families’ commutes and daily routines.
“We are already seeing the road closures and detours having a big impact on some small businesses in the immediate area,” Hatcher explained. “Most road improvement projects do require some temporary inconvenience, but we need to make sure that they are planned to have the least impact possible on local families’ daily lives, and on local businesses’ bottom lines. At the hearing IDOT representatives can hear the community’s concerns on this project and how we can work together to minimize the impact.”
